This project is part of a two-year grant to set up Stream Monitoring Plan on the Lower Esopus Creek. Funding for this grant became available as a result of the Order on Consent No. D007-0001-11 – Lower Esopus Stream Management. The consent is an agreement between New York City and the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation concerning management of turbidity and environmental impacts in the Lower Esopus Creek watershed associated with releases from the Ashokan Reservoir. The order established requirements for developing and implementing the Lower Esopus Stream Management Plan, funding environmental benefit projects, and coordinating long-term water quality, habitat, and flood management efforts. The Hudson River Foundation is the order of consent administrator.
